FRACTIONAL RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) SKIN TIGHTENING
Fractional Radio Frequency Skin Tightening
Frequency (RF) Skin Tightening uses RF energy to heat tissue and stimulate subdermal collagen production in order to firm, plump and repair. This reduces the appearance of wrinkles and loose skin. The technique induces tissue remodelling and production of new collagen and elastin. The handpiece that is passed over the area to be treated emits low level radio waves through the upper layers of the skin to the dermis. Heating of the dermis stimulates production of new collagen resulting in firmer, plumper skin with more elasticity. The treatment also improves blood and lymphatic flow which induces a better oxygen supply as well as greater removal of toxins, further reducing the signs of ageing.
What is RF?
Fractional RF is low level radio waves that cause a thermal reaction deep in the dermis leaving only a small percentage of the surface affected. The heat destroys unhealthy cells and stimulates the production of healthy cells. This results in firmer skin, reduced wrinkles, reduced pore size, reduced acne scarring and overall rejuvenation. As well as new collagen formation, fractional RF improves circulation by increasing the formation of new blood vessels, increases lymphatic flow and increases oxygen supply and greater toxin clearance. It also Increases hydration by stimulating glycosaminoglycan’s (GAG’S), the precursor to hyaluronic acid (the natural hydrator found in the skin which draws up to 1000 times its weight in water), improving skin tone and texture by creating a controlled thermal stamp to the selected tissue. This stimulates cell regeneration, repairing the skin and improving acne scars and the appearance of cellulite.
What does the skin look like afterwards?
The heat will cause local controlled contraction of collagen fibres, tightening the skin. The skin will be a little pink and some clients will have some mild swelling afterwards, but this subsides quickly after the treatment. Results continue to improve after a series of treatments.
What should I avoid afterwards?
UV (sun) exposure and any skin care products with treatment actives should be avoided afterwards if you want to see lasting and dramatic results.
No. treatments REQUIRED?
Four to six sessions of this treatment are recommended on the face and neck. Six to ten sessions are recommended on the body. These are spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Then a maintenance treatment is recommended every 6 months. Packages available!
Is IT painful?
The procedure is completely non-surgical, painless and with no downtime. There is no anaesthetic required and is suitable for all skin types. You can go back to work as long as you are not outdoors in the sun/UV light. You may apply mineral makeup after the treatment.
Who can’t have the treatment?
You can’t have the treatment if you have metal pins, plates or a pacemaker near the area to be treated. You also can’t have the treatment if you have any active conditions in the area such as sun exposure/tan/sunburn, eczema, acne, rosacea that is inflamed, cold sores or had radiation in the area to be treated.
